Our Wedding

Ladies&nbsp;and&nbsp;gentlemen,&nbsp;today&nbsp;we&nbsp;celebrate&nbsp;a&nbsp;love&nbsp;that&nbsp;did&nbsp;not&nbsp;come&nbsp;easily…&nbsp;but&nbsp;came&nbsp;exactly&nbsp;when&nbsp;it&nbsp;was&nbsp;meant&nbsp;to. Charles&nbsp;first&nbsp;noticed&nbsp;Kentrell&nbsp;at&nbsp;work.&nbsp;From&nbsp;the&nbsp;start,&nbsp;he&nbsp;knew&nbsp;there&nbsp;was&nbsp;something&nbsp;different&nbsp;about&nbsp;her. Charles:&nbsp;“I&nbsp;asked&nbsp;her&nbsp;out&nbsp;more&nbsp;times&nbsp;than&nbsp;I&nbsp;can&nbsp;count.” And&nbsp;Kentrell?&nbsp;With&nbsp;a&nbsp;smile&nbsp;she&nbsp;remembers: “And&nbsp;I&nbsp;said&nbsp;no&nbsp;more&nbsp;times&nbsp;than&nbsp;I&nbsp;can&nbsp;count.&nbsp;I&nbsp;wasn’t&nbsp;ready,&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;thought&nbsp;he&nbsp;was&nbsp;just&nbsp;being&nbsp;persistent.” But&nbsp;real&nbsp;love&nbsp;doesn’t&nbsp;rush.&nbsp;It&nbsp;waits.&nbsp;For&nbsp;three&nbsp;years,&nbsp;Charles&nbsp;waited&nbsp;with&nbsp;patience,&nbsp;with&nbsp;kindness,&nbsp;with&nbsp;faith.&nbsp;And&nbsp;then&nbsp;one&nbsp;day,&nbsp;Kentrell&nbsp;said&nbsp;yes.&nbsp;One&nbsp;single&nbsp;yes&nbsp;that&nbsp;opened&nbsp;the&nbsp;door&nbsp;to&nbsp;forever. From&nbsp;that&nbsp;first&nbsp;date,&nbsp;their&nbsp;lives&nbsp;began&nbsp;to&nbsp;intertwine.&nbsp;And&nbsp;together,&nbsp;they&nbsp;walked&nbsp;through&nbsp;storms&nbsp;most&nbsp;couples&nbsp;could&nbsp;never&nbsp;imagine.&nbsp;They&nbsp;weathered&nbsp;Hurricane&nbsp;Harvey,&nbsp;when&nbsp;Charles&nbsp;got&nbsp;“stuck”&nbsp;at&nbsp;Kentrell’s&nbsp;house&nbsp;and&nbsp;never&nbsp;truly&nbsp;left.&nbsp;They&nbsp;endured&nbsp;the&nbsp;Houston&nbsp;freeze,&nbsp;bundling&nbsp;up&nbsp;with&nbsp;blankets&nbsp;and&nbsp;laughter.&nbsp;They&nbsp;leaned&nbsp;on&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;through&nbsp;the&nbsp;uncertainty&nbsp;of&nbsp;Covid. And&nbsp;every&nbsp;storm&nbsp;only&nbsp;proved&nbsp;what&nbsp;the&nbsp;two&nbsp;of&nbsp;them&nbsp;already&nbsp;knew:&nbsp;real&nbsp;love&nbsp;endures&nbsp;all&nbsp;things. But&nbsp;this&nbsp;story&nbsp;is&nbsp;not&nbsp;only&nbsp;about&nbsp;Charles&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kentrell,&nbsp;it’s&nbsp;about&nbsp;family.&nbsp;Charles&nbsp;didn’t&nbsp;just&nbsp;fall&nbsp;in&nbsp;love&nbsp;with&nbsp;Kentrell;&nbsp;he&nbsp;became&nbsp;a&nbsp;father&nbsp;figure&nbsp;to&nbsp;her&nbsp;children,&nbsp;Kaylee&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kaden,&nbsp;when&nbsp;they&nbsp;were&nbsp;just&nbsp;4&nbsp;and&nbsp;8.&nbsp;And&nbsp;Kentrell’s&nbsp;heart&nbsp;opened&nbsp;wide&nbsp;to&nbsp;love&nbsp;Charles’&nbsp;daughters,&nbsp;Kaycee&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kierra.&nbsp;Together,&nbsp;they’ve&nbsp;built&nbsp;not&nbsp;just&nbsp;a&nbsp;blended&nbsp;family,&nbsp;but&nbsp;a&nbsp;whole&nbsp;one.&nbsp;A&nbsp;family&nbsp;made&nbsp;complete&nbsp;by&nbsp;love,&nbsp;laughter,&nbsp;and&nbsp;faith. Then&nbsp;came&nbsp;June&nbsp;20,&nbsp;2024,&nbsp;Kentrell’s&nbsp;birthday.&nbsp;She&nbsp;thought&nbsp;it&nbsp;was&nbsp;just&nbsp;another&nbsp;day.&nbsp;But&nbsp;Charles&nbsp;had&nbsp;been&nbsp;waiting&nbsp;for&nbsp;this&nbsp;moment. Charles:&nbsp;“I&nbsp;knew&nbsp;it&nbsp;had&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;that&nbsp;day.&nbsp;I&nbsp;wanted&nbsp;her&nbsp;birthday&nbsp;to&nbsp;carry&nbsp;the&nbsp;memory&nbsp;of&nbsp;a&nbsp;lifetime.” And&nbsp;when&nbsp;he&nbsp;asked&nbsp;the&nbsp;question,&nbsp;Kentrell&nbsp;answered&nbsp;without&nbsp;hesitation: “It&nbsp;was&nbsp;the&nbsp;easiest&nbsp;yes&nbsp;of&nbsp;my&nbsp;life.” And&nbsp;so&nbsp;here&nbsp;they&nbsp;stand.&nbsp;Seven&nbsp;years&nbsp;of&nbsp;resilience,&nbsp;of&nbsp;raising&nbsp;children,&nbsp;of&nbsp;loving&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;through&nbsp;every&nbsp;high&nbsp;and&nbsp;low,&nbsp;has&nbsp;brought&nbsp;them&nbsp;to&nbsp;this&nbsp;sacred&nbsp;moment. Charles&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kentrell’s&nbsp;story&nbsp;is&nbsp;not&nbsp;one&nbsp;of&nbsp;chance,&nbsp;it&nbsp;is&nbsp;one&nbsp;of&nbsp;persistence,&nbsp;of&nbsp;patience,&nbsp;of&nbsp;grace.&nbsp;It&nbsp;is&nbsp;proof&nbsp;that&nbsp;sometimes&nbsp;love&nbsp;does&nbsp;not&nbsp;arrive&nbsp;when&nbsp;we&nbsp;expect&nbsp;it,&nbsp;but&nbsp;always&nbsp;when&nbsp;we&nbsp;need&nbsp;it. So&nbsp;,&nbsp;in&nbsp;front&nbsp;of&nbsp;all&nbsp;of&nbsp;you,&nbsp;October&nbsp;4th&nbsp;2026&nbsp;they&nbsp;choose&nbsp;forever.

From unforgettable memories to inside jokes that will last a lifetime, being Kentrell’s best friend has been a true blessing. I’m Tawanda (Tee), and we’ve been friends since 7th grade—growing up, growing together, and standing by each other through every season of life. Kentrell even stood beside me as my matron of honor when I married my husband, and now I’m so honored to celebrate her in this special moment.

As a proud mom of two daughters, I value love, friendship, and the journey of building a life together—and seeing Kentrell this happy and in love is everything. I’m so excited to continue our couples trips and create even more beautiful memories together. I’m just glad I get a front-row seat to her happily ever after!

I am truly honored to stand beside my younger sister as her Maid of Honor on one of the most important days of her life. From the very beginning, our bond has been something special, we’ve been best friends since birth, growing up side by side, sharing laughter, lessons, and countless memories that have shaped who we are today.

Watching her grow into the incredible woman she is has been one of my greatest joys. She is not only my sister, but my confidante, my supporter, and one of the most important people in my life. Being chosen to stand with her as she begins this new chapter is a role I cherish deeply.

My name is Jessica Matthews, proud wife of Shawn for the past 24 years, mother, bonus mom, and big sister to the bride. I’ve known Kentrell for more than two decades, and from the very beginning, she’s been my little sister in every way that matters.

Over the years, we’ve built a bond rooted in love, laughter, and the simple joys that connect us, cooking together, swapping fashion ideas, and sharing our love of reading. One of my favorite connections between us is that my oldest daughter and Kentrell share the same birthday. No matter what season of life we were in, those moments always brought us closer.

I’m the mother of my beautiful girls, Zsa'mhari, Jade, Serenity, and Ashanti and the proud stepmother of my boys, Kylan and Jules. And through all these years, one thing has never changed: both Shawn and I love and care for Kentrell deeply.

What I admire most about Nell is her fairness, her loyalty, and her heart. She is one of the most genuine people you will ever meet, the kind of woman who shows up, stands firm, and loves with intention. She’s strong, she’s thoughtful, and she has always been a steady presence in our family.

As the beloved cousin of the groom, Charles, she is honored to be a part of this special day as the flower girl. Zariell brings joy, laughter, and a bright spirit wherever she goes, and she is excited to help celebrate this beautiful union.

My name is Adalyn Rose Knight, and I am TT Kentrell’s goddaughter! I have loved her since the very first time I met her. My mommy told me that TT Kentrell loved me even before I was born. She always checked on me and sent me the BEST gifts ever!

When I got a little older, I met Mr. Charleston… well, that’s what I called him at first. My mom had to remind me that his name was actually Mr. Charles (LOL)! He seemed really nice until he took my really big Mardi Gras beads, so I wasn’t too sure about him then.

But when my mommy told me I was going to be in the wedding, I decided to love Mr. Charles just like I love my TT Kentrell. And besides… when they get married, I get to wear a REALLY pretty dress! 💕

My name is Christopher A Young Sr. I am  Charles's cousin. Our mother's are sisters.  I have known Charles all his life. He and I have been more like brothers than cousins. We are both libras ,one year apart. We have been through almost everything together. From diapers to present day. We have been there for each other for all life's trials and tribulations. We have so many memories together that I could write a book but, im not here for that. Im here to support and celebrate my cousin aka my Lil brother in a new chapter of happiness in his life. That happiness is beening and building a life with Kentrell. So congratulations to y'all for finding each other. Wishing you and Kentrell eternal love and happiness.

I’ve known Charles since 1994. We grew up together, learned life together, and moved from the neighborhood into adulthood side by side. What started as childhood friendship turned into a lifelong brotherhood built on loyalty, respect, and years of shared experiences.

Through every stage of life, the highs, the lows, and everything in between, Charles has been solid. We went from young dreamers trying to figure things out to grown men building careers and families, and our bond never shifted.

Standing beside him as his groomsman means a lot to me. It represents decades of friendship, growth, and real loyalty. If you know Charles, you know he brings strength, humor, and steady support. That’s why he’s been such an important part of my life, and why I’m honored to be part of his on this special day.

I'm a proud farmer, loving husband and father, and the brother of the bride. I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised in Laurel, Mississippi, where family, faith, and hard work shaped the man I am today. I’m also known in the family as the one who always has a theory about something, but that just means I pay attention.

Kentrell is my baby sister, and she has always been the one who checks on me, supports me, and shows up with love every single time. She’s strong, kind‑hearted, and will give you the shirt off her back… but cross her, and that won’t end well for you. My wife and I admire her strength and perseverance so much that we named our daughter Serenity Kentrell in her honor.

I met Charles about a eight years ago when he and my sister started dating, and it didn’t take long for me to see the truth: he loves and cares for her with the same depth and loyalty she gives to others. His actions spoke louder than words, and I knew my sister had found her match.

Today, I’m honored to stand beside them both, big brother, protector, and witness to the beginning of their forever.

I met Charles when we were kids, and from that moment on we’ve shared a lifetime of memories. From childhood adventures to our teenage years and into adulthood, we’ve experienced so many good times together. I’ve seen Charles at his highest moments and I’ve stood beside him through his lowest, and through it all, he has always remained my brother not just a friend.
Today, seeing him truly happy means everything to me. Watching him find Kentrell and seeing the love they share is a blessing. She completes him in a way only real love can, and I proudly call her my sister.

We’ve shared over 33 years of friendship, which honestly feels unreal. I met Charles through a small circle of friends, and after really getting to know him, we became close friends like brothers.
Before I really knew him, I remember him walking around school battle rapping everybody. His skills reminded me of Gangsta Nip raw and uncut!
Over the years, I’ve watched him grow into a loyal friend, a solid man, and now someone ready to build a marriage and a future with Kentrell. One thing that always stood out to me was his work ethic. Watching how hard he worked and how dedicated he stayed through the years motivated me to want that same drive and discipline in my own life.

Charles has been a true friend and brother  for over 30 years. From growing up together to becoming men with families, careers, and responsibilities, our friendship has remained solid through every season of life. Im  honored and proud to stand by Charles’ side on one of the most important days of his life as one of his groomsmen.
Over the years, some of our best memories came from their shared love of loud music in cars. Riding around town  making sure the  bass hits just right, those moments created a bond that time could never break. I  especially loved Charles’ Delta 88 not just because of the car itself, but because of the memories, laughs, and good times at the Kappa Beach parties we went to.
Seeing Charles find happiness and love brings me  genuine joy. After more than three decades of friendship, Im grateful to witness this new chapter and couldn’t be happier to celebrate alongside him on his wedding day.

My name is William, but to the bride I’ll always be “Willie.” I’m not just her cousin  she’s been one of my lifelong friends. Some of my favorite memories growing up were the Christmases we spent together in Baton Rouge and those long Mississippi summers surrounded by family, laughter, and tradition. Those moments shaped our bond and made it something I’ve always cherished.

I’m 36 now and work as a commercial roofer for NASA, but no matter how much life has changed, one thing has always stayed the same: my admiration for her. Through the years, I’ve always appreciated her kind heart, her selfless nature, and the way she’s always there whenever family needs her. That’s just who she is, dependable, loving, and willing to step in without hesitation.
